Emily De Freitas
Professional Development Chair
Emily is a sophomore in the Lambda class and current co-chair of Professional Development. She’s double majoring in Neuroscience and French. Outside of Phi Chi she is a research assistant for the School of Nursing, studying domestic violence against women with disabilities. She is also a member of the Michigan All-Girl Competitive Cheer team! Some of Emily’s favorite activities include curling up with her cat or finding a new craft to complete. She rushed Phi Chi for the community of passionate individuals, and has found that and more. Go Phi Chi & Go Blue!

Amrita Kondur is a junior and the current co-Professional Development chair of Phi Chi.
Lily Dale
Rush Chair
Lily Dale is one of our Rush chairs! Lily is a junior studying MCDB with a minor in Business Administration. Outside of Phi Chi, she is the family relations coordinator for Dance Marathon, helping to raise funds and awareness for pediatric therapies at C.S. Mott Children’s hospital. She is also a research assistant in the Wu Lab, studying how circadian in peripheral organs influence bodily responses to high calorie diet, and VP Philanthropy for her sorority Delta Gamma. In her free time, Lily enjoys going on walks, reading, and supporting Michigan football. Go Phi Chi and Go Blue!
Mackenzie Woock
Rush Chair
Mackenzie Woock is one of our rush chairs! Mackenzie is a senior majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Gender and Health. Outside of Phi Chi, she serves as a research assistant in the Tronson Lab, studying the effects of hormonal contraception on the brain. She also works on a global health project with the Department of OBGYN at Michigan Medicine, just returning from a summer in Ghana studying various labor outcomes. In her free time, Mackenzie enjoys long morning walks and trying every sushi spot in town (Totoro on top). She’s so excited to meet the PNMs and recruit the best new brothers!
Ilana Ravindra
Philanthropy Chair
Ilana Ravindra is a sophomore and serves as one of our Philanthropy Chairs. Ilana is studying public health and is interested in pursuing a career in pediatrics, gynecology, or dermatology. Ilana is involved in anesthesia research at the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Researcg Center helping patients combat chronic pain. Her other involvements on campus include the Michigan Healthcare Business Club and Global Surgery Student Alliance. She enjoys going for sushi and boba dates with friends, running, yoga, being a tourist, and shopping.
Andrew Zupancic
Philanthropy Chair
Andrew Zupancic is a dedicated Biomedical Engineering student with a passion for community service and giving back. As Co-Philanthropy Chair of his organization, he is committed to organizing impactful initiatives that foster positive change and encourage a spirit of generosity within the community. He founded Project Porch Pantry, which has donated more than 38,000 pounds of food to those in need. With a background in research and hands-on engineering projects, Andrew brings a unique perspective to his role, combining technical expertise with a deep commitment to improving lives through both science and service.
Medha Tripathi
Internal Social Chair
Medha Tripathi is our Internal Social Chair. Medha is majoring in Neuroscience and Biophysics and is interested in pursuing psychiatry or ophthalmology. She currently serves as a research assistant at the Frankel Cardiovascular Center and explores the effects of biomarkers in aortic aneurysm patients. She also loves trying new restaurants, playing chess, and spending time with family and friends.

My name is John Shultz, and I am the external social chair. I am majoring in neuroscience and I’m from Cleveland, Ohio. Fun fact I own 3 dogs.
J Betts
DEI Chair
J Betts - They/Them, Major in BCN (Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience), Minor in Asian Languages and Cultures (Concentration in Mandarin Chinese). J is a senior at University of Michigan, with a primary interest in disability justice. They are a student athlete with the wheelchair tennis team, and engage in research on campus to improve the healthcare outcomes for disabled adolescents in Uganda who face violence.
Ritika Putta
DEI Chair
Ritika is a sophomore in the Lambda class and the current co-chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Ritika is currently majoring in Neuroscience. Outside of Phi Chi, Ritika works as a Peer Mentor for the Health Sciences Scholars Program and is a Patient Care Technician. Also, she volunteers at the VA Cancer Clinic. In her free time, Ritika loves to listen to music, try new restaurants, and go on walks. She’s so excited for the PNM’s to find their community like she did. Go Phi Chi!
Frankie Gamio-Legani
Mental Health and Wellness Chair
Frankie is a sophomore in the Lambda class and current co-chair of mental health and wellness. She is majoring in Biology, Health, and Society and minoring in Economics. Outside of Phi Chi, She assists the audiology and otolaryngology clinic at the Mott's Children's hospital.
Brooke Lang
Mental Health and Wellness Chair
Brooke Lang is one of our Mental Health and Wellness Chairs. Brooke is majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Gender and Health and is interested in pursuing a career in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. She currently serves as a research assistant in the University of Michigan Concussion Center in the ATHINA Lab, researching the long term implications of minor TBI on aging. She also enjoys tutoring with Michigan Athletics, running half marathons, hiking, and spending time with her two cats.

Yousef Emara is a senior and the current Alumni Outreach chair of Phi Chi.
Darian Rashid
External Branding Chair
Darian Rashid is a junior majoring in Neuroscience and the current External Branding Chair. He is interested in pursing a career in child psychiatry. He serves as a research assistant at Welch Labs at Michigan Medicine, researching the genomes of IPSCs and neurons, as well as the application of embryonic bodies in differentiation. Earlier this year, he served in leading a trip to the Dominican Republic with a focus on social and medicinal disparities. In addition, he works as a volunteer at Safehouse center on the crisis line. During his free time, he kicks rocks, tries to do digital art, and watches bad television.
